The Womb Chair from The Saarinen Collection was designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll in 1946. The armchair has round, soft shapes and high seating comfort with soft down-filled cushions. The shell is made of molded polyurethane foam over a metal structure and comes fully upholstered in a selection of textiles and leather. The base is made of tubular steel that is available with a chromed and polished or black painted surface.
Eero Saarinen designed the Womb Chair after Florence Knoll's request for a chair that would be like a basket full of cushions - a soft, peaceful oasis.
