Nordic Ware
Nordic Ware was founded in 1946 by a married couple named Dotty and Dave in Minneapolis, USA. Dave had recently returned from the World War II with ideas and a desire to start a kitchenware business. Dotty and Dave then started making kitchen utensils at home in their basement, this came to be the start of Nordic Ware.
Initially, Nordic Ware had a small range of Scandinavian kitchen utensil products such as throat irons, roasting irons, skillet pans and doughnut pans. The company then grew and expanded its range with various baking pans, new kitchen utensils, microwave products and grill accessories. 75 years later, Nordic Ware proudly still manufactures its products in Minneapolis. From being two people who founded the company to having 100 employees who now offer their kitchen products worldwide.
Family-run business
Today, Nordic Ware is still run by the third generation of the family that founded the company. With an ambition to continue expanding, new innovative products are constantly being added to their range.
The Bundt pan
Nordic Ware's most famous product is the Bundt baking dish and can be found in over 75 million households worldwide. The Bundt name came about and was patented when one of the co-owners would describe the fluid design of the unique baking dish. The baking pan is designed with a hole in the center that allowed the cake to bake evenly. The symmetry of the baking tin is elegant but also very practical as it is easy to serve and cut up. The baking tin first gained fame when it was used to bake a cake that won a prize in a national baking competition. After this event, households all over the world started to have the Bundt pan at home and this became a tradition for baking and gatherings.
