The Swell Armchair is a minimalist yet robust armchair with a playful and light-hearted feel, created by the Swedish designer Jonas Wagell for Normann Copenhagen. It is made of solid wood plywood for the frame and has padding with Nozaq springs, as well as HR 38 cold foam in the seat and HR 35 cold foam in the back and armrests. Above this is a layer of extra soft S25 cold foam for optimal comfort. The armchair's legs are made of painted ash.
The Scandinavian simplicity of the design is highlighted by its lack of unnecessary details. Nevertheless, the Swell exudes a clear character and personality, and its soft, rounded shapes make it inviting and provide great seating comfort. The name Swell is a reference to leavening bread with its plump shape, which consists of a robust upholstered back and seat and two curved armrests.
