Akari 23A is a pendant lamp by Vitra designed by Japanese–American sculptor, architect and designer Isamu Noguchi in 1951. The lamp is made of shoji paper, which comes from the bark of the mulberry tree, and is then woven into the fine shape of the lamp.Akari 23A is part of the Akari lamp range, a range of lamp sculptures all designed by Noguchi and still made by hand by Japanese craftsmen. All Akari light sculptures are embossed with a logo representing the sun and the moon, reinforcing the authenticity of each product.
