Model 548 is a table lamp designed in 1951 by Gino Sarfatti. It is a study in balance and light reflection through a shade, a recurring theme in Sarfatti's work. The adjustable spotlight, directed up at a reflective shade, provides a reflected and diffused light.
The large diffuser, which comes in a variety of colors, creates a sophisticated light and is an integral part of the illusion. In the new edition, the original incandescent bulb has been replaced by an LED source and an optical dimmer has been discreetly integrated into the original design.
