Tissø Sofa from Dagmar is designed by Alfred Kristensen. The iconic sofa is based on the Model 185 from 1952, originally produced by the Danish Slagelse Møbelværk which Kristensen ran together with his brother. The furniture manufacturer became one of Denmark's leading manufacturers during the 20th century, with Kristensen responsible for many of the most successful works and having a particular talent for upholstered furniture in classic design. The highlight of his career was this highly sought-after sofa. This new edition, with its characteristic heart-shaped back, has been named Tissø, named after the lake where Alfred and his son Guido often used to fish.
The sofa is made in Sweden with a solid beech frame, assembled using traditional carpentry methods. The seat is fully sprung, padded with foam and upholstered in sheepskin or textile from suppliers such as Skandilock, Pierre Frey and Dedar. With its dimensions and balanced proportions, the sofa fits perfectly in smaller living rooms or bedrooms.
