The Luxembourg Low Armchair was launched in 2004 after a collaboration between Frédéric Sofia and Fermob. The outdoor armchair has a frame made of cylindrical aluminum tubes and a seat, backrest and armrests made of aluminum slats. The aluminum contributes to strength and lightness, and the slats provide good comfort. The Luxembourg Low Armchair is characterized by its timeless design and fits into many different environments.
It was in the 1920s that the Luxembourg Low Armchair first appeared along the walkways of the famous Jardin de Luxembourg park in Paris. Fermob still produces the furniture using traditional craftsmanship, even though almost 100 years have passed. Since the 1990s, at the request of the Jardin du Luxembourg, Fermob has been manufacturing the armchair again.
