Chouchin Bianco is a series of pendant lamps from Foscarini, Italy, designed by Ionna Vautrin between 2015 and 2021. The series is a contemporary interpretation of traditional Japanese lanterns, combining a pared-back design language with the craftsmanship of blown glass. The three models have different proportions but share the same all-white appearance and soft lighting character.
Chouchin Bianco 1 has a generous, rounded silhouette, with the glass shade ending in a collar-shaped opening at the bottom. Chouchin Bianco 2 has a more elongated profile and a lower ring that defines the form. It diffuses a warm light into the surroundings while also providing direct downward light. Chouchin Bianco 3 is the most compact model in the series and is characterised by its smaller, rounded form. Together, Chouchin Bianco 1, 2 and 3 form a cohesive family in which variations in shape and proportion give each pendant lamp its own character. They can be used individually or combined to create compositions with different volumes and expressions.
