Meta table lamp

Meta is a table lamp from Stilnovo, Italy, designed by Stilnovo in 1970. The lamp is characterised by pared-back geometry, where the hemispherical shade meets a curved, slender structure and a cylindrical base. The reduced design language is typical of 1970s Italian design, allowing the construction and function to become a distinct part of its appearance.

The large curved shade encloses the light and gives Meta its characteristic silhouette. The soft volume of the shade contrasts with the slender line that follows the form and continues down towards the horizontal base. The combination creates a balanced composition with a distinct graphic expression, both when the lamp is switched on and off. The Meta table lamp brings together simple geometric elements in a cohesive form where each part has a clear function. The result is a compact fixture with a design language that retains its original 1970s character.
