CH445 is an armchair from Danish Carl Hansen. The armchair was designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1960 and was relaunched by the brand in 2006, after previously only being produced in a few copies. CH445 is a clear expression of Wegner's view of form, ergonomics and structural balance. The armchair is fully upholstered and rests on a stainless steel frame. Under the upholstery is a solid beech frame that provides stability over time. The backrest, seat and high armrests are designed to provide support for the back, neck, shoulders and head in different sitting positions. The exact volume and shape of the upholstery is carefully adapted to the needs of the body. The rounded steel legs are angled to provide stability even when leaning back, while cone-shaped steel details connect the seat to the base. Each leg ends with a steel shoe that prevents slipping.
