Antella is a console table by Cassina, Italy, designed by Kazuhide Takahama in 1975 and introduced into production in 2013. Conceived as a flexible furniture piece, it brings together form and function, transforming effortlessly from a console table into an oval table depending on the needs of the space and its placement within the room.
The lacquered frame recalls the appearance of traditional lacquer craftsmanship, giving the surface a rich depth and distinctive lustre. Every aspect of the construction has been carefully considered, with two folding leaves held securely in place by magnets when used as a console and easily opened to create a generous tabletop. Placed against a wall, Antella presents itself as a restrained console table, while positioned in the centre of a room it becomes a larger table. This adaptability makes Antella a versatile piece of furniture in which movement, materials, and functionality come together in a cohesive expression.
