Crosley

Powel Crosley established Crosley in 1920, which quickly became a success with its radios offered at a much lower price than the competition—a need Powel noticed and met after looking for a radio to buy for his son.

The name was reintroduced in 1984 by Modern Marketing Concepts, and today it manufactures portable retro-inspired vinyl record players and jukeboxes in the same style and spirit as the originals, among other products. Today, Crosley is a leading US manufacturer of retro-inspired music equipment.

Analogue sound for a digital generation

Crosley released its first vinyl record player in 1992, at a time when CDs were at their peak, with the idea of setting trends rather than following current ones. They produced turntables with classic design flair but in a new technical style, offering them in a variety of playful finishes, in a wide range of colors, to make the vinyl record player a more personal expression and a tasteful interior design detail in the home.

The Crosley turntable made it possible to take your favorite records with you and play them anywhere, thanks in part to its portfolio-like design and built-in speakers. Crosley’s products combined this with modern functionality such as advanced pitch-control to match tempo and either Bluetooth or wired connectivity to speakers, if custom speakers were preferred.

Spinnerette and Executive also offered the ability to record and edit the music you played from your turntable using an accompanying software program. The Bermuda model took inspiration from the classic Dansette vinyl record player, embodying Crosley’s vision of creating modern vinyl players in a retro-inspired style.
