Pelagus is an extension leaf from Fritz Hansen in Denmark, designed in collaboration with Stockholm-based Note Design Studio. The extension leaf is specifically designed for Pelagus Table and makes it possible to extend the table when additional seating is needed.
Pelagus consists of eight teak slats and is easily placed in the centre of the table’s aluminium frame once the tabletop has been pulled apart. Depending on the size of the table, one or two extension leaves can be used to increase the number of seats. A table for six or eight people can thus be extended to accommodate up to ten or twelve people respectively. When the extension leaves are not in use, up to two can be stored directly in the frame beneath the tabletop. This solution keeps them easily accessible while eliminating the need for separate storage space. Note Design Studio’s focus on function and a holistic approach is clearly expressed in Pelagus, where the materials and construction are designed to integrate with the table’s existing design.
