Vendia is a folding outdoor chair from Fritz Hansen in Denmark, designed by Danish designer Mogens Holmriis. The chair is part of the Vendia collection, which was developed with smaller outdoor spaces in mind. Its design language draws inspiration from traditional garden furniture but has been adapted to a more compact format for balconies, patios and terraces where space is limited.
Vendia is made from teak and has a slender profile with softly shaped lines. Brass fittings complement the wooden construction and form a discreet detail in the pared-back design. The folding construction makes the chair easy to store and reduces the amount of space it takes up when not in use. Mogens Holmriis has a background as both a cabinetmaker and an architect and works with a particular interest in the properties and aesthetic possibilities of wood.
