Sander Table is a glass table designed in 2010 by Chris Martin for Massproductions. The side table is made entirely of hand-blown glass. The conical base is shaped using a steel mold while the table top is made of tempered furniture glass. The tempered furniture glass gives the table top a unique feel as it is a mixture of industrial glass and handmade glass. Using UV-cured glue, the Sander Table's round table top is attached to the top of the base. To make it a durable solution, a special glue has been used that is stronger than the glass itself.
When developing the Sander Table, designer Chris Martin was really put to the test. This is because he believes that glass is a fascinating material that is clear, clean and visually uncomplicated. But when it comes to designing it, it is extremely demanding as there are many rules and restrictions to adhere to. The result is a modern small table that, thanks to its size, is perfect for placing next to the sofa or armchair in the living room or why not next to the bed in the bedroom?
