NO-GA was founded in 1912 when Anders Andersson, a farmer's son from Skåne, built an impressive property on the corner of Nybrogatan and Riddargatan. This was the start of NO-GA, a place that would grow to become the obvious destination for exclusive furniture and modern design in Stockholm.

An auction hall is opened with the intention of organising quality auctions for art and antique furniture, but the idea is scrapped and the company switches to selling high-quality antique furniture instead. In 1929, Anders Andersson's nephew Carl-Otto Heigard takes over the company. He complements the furniture shop with an art gallery and four years later the name NO-GA is established.

Exclusive home furnishings from well-known designers

NO-GA has a long tradition of notable exhibitions. In the 1950s, the 'Danish era' began with a groundbreaking exhibition of designers such as Nanna and Jörgen Ditzel, Jörgen Höj and Finn Juhl. Höj also designed the new logo, which is still in use until 2017. The tradition continued with the prominent 'Inspiration -63' exhibition with names like Börge Mogensen, Hans J. Wegner and Jörgen Höj. In 1967, the "Viva l'Italia" exhibition was a great success, introducing the Cassina and B&B Italia brands to Sweden. At the end of the 1970s, the Eames couple launched their design furniture in Sweden, and in the same year Tobia Scarpa also designed the NO-GA's self-produced sofa Familjesoffan, which can still be found at auctions today.
