Monkeyflower Eau de Parfum 30 ml

Monkeyflower is a perfume from the Swedish perfume house Stora Skuggan. The perfume comes in a 30 ml bottle and is based on Musk Monkeyflower, a sunny yellow flower from the American West Coast that became known for its musky scent. The plant was introduced to Europe and became widespread in Victorian England, where it was found among botanical collectors, street vendors and in private homes. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was noted that the flower had lost its characteristic scent, both in cultivated plants and wild specimens in North America. The cause was never determined and the issue was discussed for several decades.

The perfume is based on this botanical history with scent notes of coltsfoot, fig, buttercup, musk, sunblock, chamomile, goldberry and hay. Musk Monkeyflower is still found wild in parts of Europe and New Zealand. The perfume ties together the story of the plant with its historical connection to musk and the specified fragrance notes in the composition.
