Lilium is an outdoor lounge table from Fritz Hansen in Denmark, designed by BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group. The table is part of the Lilium collection, whose contemporary design language draws inspiration from the shape of a water lily leaf. The collection combines teak and stainless steel in a construction designed for long-term outdoor use.
The square table features a slender, X-shaped stainless steel frame that gives the construction a light, graphic expression. The tabletop consists of teak planks arranged diagonally to create a distinctive pattern. The interplay between the slender metal frame and the solid tabletop gives Lilium a clear balance between lightness and stability. BIG is an international studio founded by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels and works across fields including architecture, design and urban planning. Lilium reflects the studio’s contemporary approach through its distinct geometry and considered combination of materials. The table is designed for social outdoor settings and fits naturally on a terrace or in the garden.
