Metafora Coffee Table

Metafora is a coffee table designed by Lella & Massimo Vignelli for the Italian Martinelli Luce. The table was presented by its designers in 1979 at a furniture fair and has since been praised for its pure aesthetics and choice of materials where every detail fulfills its purpose.

The geometric figures, the cube, the cylinder, the pyramid and the sphere are created with historical references and form the base. They stand completely free and can be placed freely to create different effects under the solid clear glass top. The base is available in four material choices with stone. Choose to have all the figures in white Carrara, black Marquinia or sand-colored Travertine or in a mix of four different stones. In the latter version, the cylinder comes in Travertine, the cube in Marquinia, the pyramid in Carrara and the Sphere in brown Rasotica.
