Mortise is a shelving unit designed by Juntos Projects with a pared-back design centred on simple forms and balanced proportions and carefully considered details. Its open construction gives the unit a light appearance while retaining a distinct and stable character.
The construction and joints are visible and become a natural part of the design. They highlight the craftsmanship behind the piece and reflect Juntos Projects’ interest in natural materials and traditional construction principles. The interplay between open spaces and structural details gives Mortise Rack a simple yet characterful appearance. Mortise offers flexible open storage for books and art objects as well as personal items. The shelving unit is part of the Mortise collection where construction and material and craftsmanship come together in a functional and pared-back design.
