Riviera Lounge is a flexible outdoor lounge piece from Fritz Hansen in Denmark, designed by Danish designer Povl B. Eskildsen in 1991. The piece is part of the Riviera collection, characterised by a simple design language and a considered construction in which function and material use take centre stage.
Riviera Lounge is made from teak with stainless steel fittings. The slender wooden slats are designed to use as little material as possible without compromising the strength of the construction. The adjustable design allows the width of the piece to be changed, adapting both its appearance and function to different needs. It can be used as a lounge chair with a table surface, as a sofa or, when fully extended, as a sun lounger. For additional comfort, Riviera Lounge can be complemented with a cushion. Povl B. Eskildsen’s belief that form and function should work together is clearly expressed in the versatile construction, making Riviera Lounge adaptable to different types of outdoor spaces and uses.
