Visiere is a table lamp from the Italian brand Martinelli Luce. Designed by Sergio Asti in 1968, it is a table lamp characterized by its sculptural expression and indirect lighting. The lamp consists of three overlapping hemispheres in lacquered aluminum that are mounted around a central axis and held in place with small fasteners. The construction creates an interplay between light and shadow where the light is filtered through the different levels and provides a soft, diffused lighting.
Originally developed for circular fluorescent tubes with a focus on energy efficiency, the model has been reintroduced and adapted for LED light sources. The hemispherical base is made of aluminum and houses the lamp's electrical components, which contributes to the cohesive shape.
The lamp creates a calm atmosphere and functions both as lighting and as a clear design object in the room. With its elaborate design and characteristic silhouette, the lamp represents Sergio Asti's early work with new materials and industrial design.
