Climbing Vine is a wool rug from the Swedish brand Nordic Knots. The rug is part of a collection created in collaboration with Campbell-Rey, a design duo known for interpreting historical references with a contemporary lens. Inspired by floral motifs from the Gustavian era—a Nordic take on neoclassicism—the design draws from decorative patterns such as wreaths and folded ribbons, reimagined with influences from the history of garden design.
The rug features a bold chartreuse vine pattern, outlined with graphic precision as it winds across a muted purple base. The result is a modern translation of classic forms, grounded in symmetrical ornament and natural growth. Designed in Stockholm and hand-knotted in Bhadohi, India, the Climbing Vine rug is made in limited quantities using high-quality New Zealand wool. The material offers both softness and durability, with a 12 mm pile height.
