Tratten is a wall lamp from Örsjö Belysning, designed by Hans Agne Jakobsson in the 1960s. Jakobsson is known for designing lamps that provide a soft and glare-free light through careful handling of the light's dispersion and the reflection of the materials. His design is based on a design philosophy where the wall lamp's funnel-shaped shade surrounds and directs the light with precision.
The luminaire is designed to deliver a glare-free and directed light, where the funnel-shaped shade precisely surrounds the light source and directs the light downwards and outwards. This makes Tratten suitable where a soft, functional light is desired, not only on facades but also in corridors or stairwells. The Funnel, with a height of 22.5 cm and a depth of 33 cm, has a presence without dominating the surface. It is dimmable and has an E27 socket, which allows you to adapt the light output to the situation and time of day.
Originally developed for outdoor use (IP23), the Funnel is made of raw metals that can handle demanding climates. It is offered in raw copper or raw brass, materials that age with dignity and are allowed to patina. The untreated copper reacts with its surroundings and develops a unique, soft greenish discoloration over time. This natural change is an integral part of the design, combining durability with a conscious aesthetic.
