Bugia is a wall light from Stilnovo, Italy, designed by Roberto Beretta and Antonio Macchi Cassia in 1977. The design is a modern interpretation of the classic candlestick with a handle, combining this historical reference with a pared-back, functional design language. The name Bugia originates from the North African city of Bidgiaya, which was historically known for producing wax for candles.
This version is designed with two light sources, positioned symmetrically on either side of the central wall plate. The composition highlights the fixture's geometric structure and the round diffusers in satin-finished glass, which provide a soft and pleasant light. The frame is made of gloss-lacquered metal and is available in several colours, with the material finishes creating a distinct contrast between the structure and the diffusers. The Bugia wall light combines the circular glass forms with a curved metal structure that references the characteristic handle of the classic candlestick. The version with two light sources gives the fixture a balanced, horizontal composition and a wider distribution of light.
