Bench 153B

Bench 153B was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1945 for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. The bench is as modern and stylish now as it was then, and Alvar Aalto's design can be clearly seen in the L-shaped legs and in the top slots of the tabletop. As the bench is made of molded birch, another attribute can be traced back to Aalto's heritage - birch was a material that he constantly worked with. 153A is an excellent piece of furniture that offers extra seating or relief and can be advantageously placed in a hallway, as well as a bedroom, living room or in the kitchen as an extra seat. This piece of furniture is both beautiful and stylish, which well sums up Alvar Aalto's imprint on functional furniture design.

The bench is made of molded birch and is available in three different finishes; clear lacquered, black lacquered and white lacquered birch. It is also available in a longer model, Bench 153A, which is 112.5 cm long.
