JL341 was designed by Juha Leiviskä in 1969 for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. Leiviskä was originally an architect and a significant part of his work was church buildings. When designing the interiors, the architect attached great importance to light aspects, including artificial lighting, with a luminaire of his own design.
This is a pendant lamp that, among many other luminaires, has been part of this work.
The lamp is made of lightweight hand-turned aluminum and is designed with a thin disk unit that refracts the light and allows it to emit a warm and pleasant glow. The reflector is available in two designs, either tone-on-tone (white) or in brass.
