The CH44 Lounge Chair is an armchair in solid oak, designed in 1965 by Hans J. Wegner for Carl Hansen & Søn. The armchair is part of a smaller collection, which also includes a footstool, chair and armchair. They are all characterized by an incredible simplicity and robust materials in a coherent design. The matching CH53 stool, in the low version, is also ideal for combining with the CH44 Lounge Chair armchair for additional comfort.
This particular model of CH44 comes with a natural-colored seat made of waxed, braided paper cord. The seat has a so-called “envelope braiding” – a beautiful detail that can be found in several other of Hans J. Wegner’s works such as CH22, CH24 and CH26. The solid oak frame is available in several different surface treatments. With us you can buy the CH44 Lounge Chair in a soaped, oiled, black lacquered or white oiled finish.
