Periscopio table lamp

Periscopio is a table lamp from Stilnovo, Italy, designed in 1967. The lamp was developed during the period associated with the space age design of the 1960s, when fascination with space travel and new technology had a clear influence on design. Its pared-back expression is based on a tubular construction with a flexible joint that gives Periscopio its characteristic silhouette.

The rubber-covered joint, inspired by the connections on astronauts' suits, allows the lamp to be directed and the position of the light adjusted. The special LED light source is partially covered by a silver-coloured surface that reduces direct glare and contributes to a softer, more focused light. The Periscopio table lamp can also be used as a clamp lamp. By removing the metal base, the lamp can be attached to a surface such as a tabletop, providing a more compact option for smaller spaces and work areas. The combination of its flexible construction, directional lighting and distinct industrial references reflects the lamp's origins in 1967.
