The iconic 901 serving trolley was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1936 for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. The serving trolley represents the very best in modern wooden furniture design and has become a true classic in Scandinavian and international homes since the 1930s. The serving trolley's universal and elegant design language with clean and simple lines makes it loved all over the world.
It was designed by Aalto with the intention of it being used in the home and he also designed a trolley specifically for the living room in Villa Mairea, the stately villa Aalto designed himself.
The serving trolley fits perfectly in many rooms of the home. It is functional and swallows a lot of open storage and is just as suitable as a side table, as a bar cabinet or sober side table. It comes in molded birch.
