The elegant A808 floor lamp was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1954 for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. It is a timeless icon in functionalist furniture design and has a beautiful and very distinctive expression.
When Alvar Aalto was a child, he was constantly enchanted by filtered and subdued light, which he later explained as "like the light streaming in through grandmother's lace curtains on a warm summer day". This resulted in his lighting design taking on the same feeling in the form of light, which is no exception for the beautiful and eye-catching Angel Wing lamp.
The floor lamp has a beautiful and unique hand-riveted, brass shade made of steel slats and a stand covered in black leather. The shade is also available in white lacquered steel slats.
