CH22 is an armchair designed by Hans J. Wegner for the brand Carl Hansen & Søn. The armchair has a frame of solid walnut, a backrest of walnut veneer and a seat of waxed and naturally dyed paper cord. The seat also bears a classic envelope weave, like many of the designer's other works for the brand. The CH22 armchair was designed in 1949 and put into production the following year as part of Wegner's debut collection. After being out of production for several decades, it began production again in 2016. Today, the armchair is one of the designer's most famous and sought-after pieces of furniture.
