Tite is a pendant lamp from Foscarini, Italy, designed by Marc Sadler in 2000. The lamp is characterised by its elongated silhouette and an innovative combination of materials in which the structure and graphic expression become one and the same. Tite was awarded the Italian ADI Compasso d’Oro design prize.
The shade is made of fibreglass and black carbon fibre thread. The carbon fibre threads function both as a supporting structure and as a graphic pattern highlighted against the fibreglass. The distinctive construction gives the pendant lamp a light, cohesive expression while making the properties of the materials a visible part of the design. The elongated form gives Tite a distinct vertical presence and makes it suitable both as a single pendant and in compositions with multiple lamps. Tite uses a replaceable E27 light source, sold separately. The lamp is dimmable with a compatible light source and dimmer, allowing the brightness to be adjusted to suit different needs and settings.
