Ballare is an extendable outdoor table from Fritz Hansen in Denmark, designed by Danish industrial designer Jakob Berg. The table is part of the Ballare series, where a minimalist design language is combined with soft curves and carefully considered details. The series was created for outdoor settings but has an expression that also draws inspiration from furniture designed for interior spaces.
Ballare is designed to accommodate both smaller and larger groups. The table comes with two extension leaves that allow it to be extended to almost three metres, providing ample space when additional seating is needed around the table. When the leaves are not in use, the table retains a more compact format. Jakob Berg studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and graduated in 1987. In his work, he was particularly interested in ergonomic forms and material choices, taking inspiration from shapes and expressions that caught his attention. Ballare Table reflects this approach through its combination of functionality, balanced proportions and a soft, understated design language.
