John Pawson - Making Life Simpler Coffee Table Book

John Pawson – Making Life Simpler is an architecture book from the international publisher Phaidon. It is the first comprehensive account of the life and work of British designer John Pawson – known for his influential role in contemporary minimalism. The book is written by architectural historian Deyan Sudjic, a close friend of Pawson, and follows his journey from his upbringing in Yorkshire to his time in Japan, his years in the fashion world and the artistic context that shaped his architectural expression. Through personal stories and reflections, a picture of Pawson’s life, world of thought and creative process is created. The content is based on material from Pawson’s personal archive, with previously unpublished photographs, documents and sketches. It describes collaborations with clients such as Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfeld, Bruce Chatwin and Martha Stewart – and how each project deepens the understanding of his methodology and aesthetic.

John Pawson – Making Life Simpler is part of New Mag’s range of architecture books and is recommended for anyone who wants to explore minimalist design and contemporary architecture.
