The Design Book

The design book brings together some of the most influential and functionally designed products from the past five centuries. From the paperclip to the Eames Lounge Chair, everyday objects that have left their mark on our material culture are presented. The book includes objects by designers such as Marcel Breuer, Le Corbusier and Achille Castiglioni, but also anonymous constructions such as the deck chair and the whisk – objects where the role of design is often invisible but crucial. Each product description has been reviewed and updated to reflect current knowledge and context. In this new edition, 30 products have been added from the past fifteen years.
