Artemide's Tolomeo lamp has become a popular classic since Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina designed the first version in 1987. Tolomeo Decentrata Aluminum was designed in 1996 and is a pendant light with an arm that can be illuminated and angled. The lamp is made entirely of aluminum, the arms, and joints are polished, and the shade is made of matte aluminum. Tolomeo Decentrata is also available with parchment paper or gray satin fabric shade and can be adjusted to any size. Light shades are not included.
Tolomeo has become popular in many homes because of its flexibility, where the body of the lamp can be easily adjusted to direct the light where it is needed. Tolomeo is available in several versions, all of which have in common that they stand for simple function, elegance, and solid craftsmanship. In 1989, Tolomeo's designers were awarded the Compasso d'Oro.
