Lab Light Floor is a floor lamp from Karakter, designed by the South African design agency Anatomy Design in 2010. In this version, the floor lamp has a porcelain base, a black lacquered steel frame and a brass shade. The different materials create interesting contrasts and give the Lab Light Floor an elegant expression. In addition to this floor lamp, the same series also includes a table lamp with a similar design language as well as a floor lamp and a table lamp entirely made of black lacquered metal.
Andrea Kleinloog from Anatomy Design was inspired by her parents' pharmaceutical profession and their old laboratory equipment when she created the Lab series. It is therefore no coincidence that materials such as porcelain, steel and brass were used to produce the fixtures, materials that are often seen in classic pharmacy and hospital environments.
