Akari 9A is a beautiful lamp by Vitra designed by Japanese–American designer Isamu Noguchi in 1951 as part of the Akari lamp range. The Akari lamp range consists of lamps made from shoji paper by hand by Japanese craftsmen. Akari 9A is made of white shoji paper with a frame surrounded by bamboo. Shoji paper is paper made from the bark of the mulberry tree.
