Nelson Bell Bubble Pendant Lamp

Nelson Bell Bubble Pendant is a pendant lamp from the Danish brand HAY. The lamp was designed by George Nelson in 1947, put into production in 1952 and is part of the Nelson Bubble Lamp Collection.

The design was developed as a modern interpretation of the silk-covered Swedish pendant lamps that inspired Nelson during the post-war period. The lamp is built around a lightweight steel structure that is covered in a self-supporting plastic material, based on a technology originally developed by the American military. The material surrounds the frame and contributes to a soft, evenly diffused light while shaping the organic silhouette of the lamp.

The pendant lamp can be placed over a dining table or used as lighting in living rooms and public environments. The lightweight construction gives the lamp a clear shape without a heavy visual presence.
