EA 119 Aluminium Chair

EA 119 is an office chair from the Swiss brand Vitra. The chair was designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1958 and is part of the Aluminum Group – a series of work chairs with a clear architectural structure and technical logic. The desk chair has a high backrest, swivel seat and tilt mechanism that can be locked in different positions. The adjustable seat height and ergonomic design make the chair suitable for long-term use. The design is based on a stretched fabric or leather cover that is mounted between two aluminum side profiles, creating a flexible but stable seat without the need for padding. It is a stylish and neat chair that fits just as well in an office environment as at home at the desk.

The desk chair is considered a modern icon and the chair was originally developed by the Eames couple for an art collector's home in Columbus, Indiana.
