The modern and timeless Hand Grenade A110 lamp was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1952 for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. The pendant lamp, which is named after the resemblance of a hand grenade in its design, was designed specifically to decorate the building for the Finnish Society of Engineers. The lamp's clean lines and simple design made it a popular feature and was therefore put into production in the 1950s.
