Buds 1 is a pendant lamp from Foscarini, Italy, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni in 2016. The lamp is part of the Buds family, a series in which blown glass takes centre stage and is explored through different combinations of shapes and colours. Buds 1 stands out with its elongated silhouette and softly rounded lines.
The generous glass shade gives the pendant lamp a distinct, sculptural expression, while the clean form allows the character of the material to come through. The blown glass creates depth and gives Buds 1 a distinctive presence without making the form appear visually heavy. The Buds 1 pendant lamp works well on its own, allowing the elongated form to take centre stage, but can also be combined with other models in the Buds family. Together, the varying proportions and shapes make it possible to create larger compositions with a cohesive expression.
