Rituals 3 is a pendant lamp from Foscarini, Italy, designed by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba in 2013. The lamp draws inspiration from traditional Asian paper lanterns but is made from blown glass, a material with a thousand-year-old Venetian tradition.
The compact form gives Rituals 3 a cohesive and balanced expression. The blown glass allows the light to diffuse with a soft and pleasant glow, while the material gives the lamp a distinct presence. The contrast between the light appearance of a paper lantern and the more substantial character of glass is a central element of the design. The Rituals 3 pendant lamp is part of the Rituals series, which consists of several different yet complementary forms. The models share the use of blown glass and a soft light that highlights the silhouettes of the lamps. The compact size makes Rituals 3 suitable for a range of settings, both as a standalone light source and in combination with other lamps from the series.
