Girard Bird Bookend

Girard Bird, designed by Alexander Girard in 1945, features a minimalist form that highlights its timeless and archaic expression. Despite minimal detailing, the bird’s character is evident through its softly shaped lines and simple, understated design. With a narrow head, small round eyes, and a body almost resembling carved wood, the Girard Bird exudes a charming simplicity that captures attention. The rounded, soft forms and subtle smile enhance its playful and symbolic nature. Girard Bird serves as both a sculpture and a unique decor element, bringing a sense of calm and timelessness to any environment where it is placed.
