Zaha Hadid 1950 – 2016

Zaha Hadid was born in 1950 in Baghdad, Iraq. She studied at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London and quickly became known for her radical ideas and groundbreaking projects. Her career took off with the win of the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2004, which cemented her status as one of the world's leading architects. Hadid's projects include everything from museums and stadiums to residential buildings and pavilions.

In addition to her impressive buildings, Hadid also created exclusive furniture designs. Her design philosophy combines aesthetics and functionality, making each piece of furniture an expression of both artistry and practical usability. Her unique style and innovative designs continue to inspire new generations in both architecture and furniture design.

Groundbreaking Furniture Design

Hadid made significant contributions to furniture design, where her work was characterized by innovative forms. A prominent example is the Moon System sofa, which she designed in 2007 for B&B Italia. The Moon System features an interesting design with sculptural forms that make the sofa an artistic element in the interior while also being a functional and comfortable seating piece.

The Unique Design and Usability of the Sofa

The sofa is made with an inner frame of steel tubing and padded with flexible cold foam Bayfit, ensuring both durability and comfort. It is available with fabric upholstery in a selection of colors, allowing customization to suit different interior styles. To complement the Moon System and create a cozier and more personal feel, textiles such as throws and cushions can enhance the sofa. Her design philosophy combines aesthetics and functionality, making each piece of furniture an expression of both artistry and practical usability.
