The 9090 is an espresso machine from the Italian brand Alessi. The model was designed by Richard Sapper and went into production in 1979 as the first espresso machine in Alessi's history. It was also Alessi's first product to be awarded the Compasso d'Oro and the first item from the brand to be exhibited at MoMA in New York.
The espresso machine is made in Italy from 18/10 stainless steel and has a capacity for different numbers of cups. The design includes a base that maximizes heat, a drip-free spout and a latch that allows you to open the coffee pot with a simple hand movement. The magnetic steel base makes the espresso machine suitable for use on induction hobs.
Richard Sapper's design is based on both form and function, with details that distinguish the design from traditional espresso makers.
