Aalto Table Extendable 97 was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1935 for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. This is a stylish piece of furniture that sums up Aalto's imprint on functional furniture design. The dining table is as modern then as it is now, and Aalto's design is clearly visible in the slightly curved legs in an L-shape and the simple and clean top of the tabletop. It is a neat piece of furniture that blends beautifully into many different types of environments. It can be used as a desk as well as a dinner table. The table combines nicely with the Artek chairs 69 and 66.
The table is made of molded birch and has a 5 cm thick tabletop that can be extended by 55 cm in two different finishes - white laminate or birch veneer.
