Lamino armchair

Lamino is an armchair from Swedish brand Swedese designed by Yngve Ekström in 1956. With its softly curved silhouette and thoughtful construction Lamino is a well-known example of Swedish furniture design. The armchair was created with the human body as its starting point and the aim of bringing simplicity and comfort together with natural materials in a balanced whole.

The frame is made of moulded laminated veneer with curved wooden lines that follow the body’s natural forms. The high back and inclined seat provide a relaxed seating position while the open construction creates a light and airy appearance. Lamino is available in several wood species and finishes and can be upholstered in sheepskin or fabric or leather to express the different characters of the materials. The armchair was named Furniture of the Century by Sköna hem magazine and has become an established presence in homes in Sweden and internationally since its launch. A matching footstool is also available for Lamino. The combination of careful craftsmanship and organic forms makes Lamino an enduring part of Swedish design history.
