Vuodesta 1999 lähtien ruotsalainen Magnus Elebäck ja brittiläinen Chris Martin ovat työskennelleet yhdessä huonekaluteollisuuden konsultteina. Suunnittelijat työskentelevät useille alan suurille yrityksille, mutta päättävät kymmenen vuoden konsultointityön jälkeen lanseerata oman tuotemerkin, joka perustuu heidän yhteiseen näkemykseensä toiminnallisuudesta ja muotoilusta. He haluavat luoda huonekaluyrityksen, joka keskittyy kohteen ja kontekstin väliseen vuorovaikutukseen, pikemminkin kuin PR-vetoisiin tuotestrategioihin. Toteuttaakseen visionsa Magnus Elebäck ja Chris Martin ottavat koko tuotantoketjun haltuunsa valmistuksesta ja tuotannosta markkinointiin. Yrityksen nimi on Massproductions, joka tulee tehokkaan, laadukkaan ja teollisen tuotannon kauneudesta. Heidän suunnittelunsa perustuu modernismin puhtaaseen ja toiminnalliseen eleganssiin, ja heidän tuotteensa ovat monikäyttöisiä ja hyvin mukautuvia. Tekemällä tiivistä yhteistyötä tuotantolaitostensa insinöörien ja koneenkäyttäjien kanssa Massproductions varmistaa, että heidän näkemyksensä on osa jokaista yksityiskohtaa.

Suunnittelu todellista maailmaa varten

Massproductions-mallit ovat usein tulosta perusteellisesta tutkimuksesta ja materiaalien, kuten teräksen, vaahtomuovin ja puun ominaisuuksien tutkimisesta. Massproductionsin tuotteet valmistetaan edistyksellisen teknologian avulla, mutta lopputulos näyttää yksinkertaiselta. He uskovat, että jos haluat älykkäitä ja käyttökelpoisia tuotteita, et tarvitse ränsistyneitä muotoja. Kauneus on jotain, joka tulee luonnostaan. Muotoilija Chris Martinille muoto on toiminnan, materiaalien ja tuotantoprosessien sivutuote. Hän sanoo, että Massproductions valmistaa oikeita tuotteita todelliseen maailmaan, ja niitä kehitetään omaan tahtiin. Massproductionsin pyrkimys hyvään laatuun, toimivuuteen ja Chris Martinin sanoin "ilmeiseen muotoiluun" on saavuttanut suurta suosiota. Massproductions debytoi Tio-tuolilla, joka sai hyvät arvostelut ja useita palkintoja. Tio-tuolin menestyksen perusteella Massproductions on jatkanut palkittujen huonekalujen luomista. Suosituimpia tuotteita ovat muun muassa Dandy-sohva sekä Crown Easy Chair ja Rose Chair.
